I have been asked why I would like to be a farmer, well, Im of age for one. -------------------------- sed on the last agricultural census, the average American farmer is 57 years of age, and nearly 30 percent of American farmers are over the age of 65. Nearly 45 percent of the military come from a rural background, and USDA is pushing for 100,000 new farmers.
