I have been awfully hard on Republicans lately. Hell, they deserved it. Your Mom told you not to lick the pole in winter and you did anyway, so hell yes you deserve the lickin youll get at the polls. Anyway, the truth is I have voted Republican more than once and believe in a multi-party system. But I could never be a Republican because: (1) I believe in marriage (between two people without further government intrusion as to qualifications) (2) I believe in freedom of religion (including the right to be free from religion) (3) I believe life is not somehow promoted by unfettered access to guns, jingoist militarism, rejecting arms control and other peace initiatives. (4) I believe poverty will not be ended by freeing the wealthy from taxes, nor lowering the minimum wage, nor abolishing affordable access to health care, nor gutting social security. (5) I believe you have a right to vote even if you dont drive, or have a passport.
