I have been busy all week volunteering for the 20th Annual Carl - TopicsExpress

I have been busy all week volunteering for the 20th Annual Carl Legget Fishing Tournament. I have just now had the time to catch up on the news, and was reading an article about the new Biloxi Seafood Museum. I read about the Hall of Fame Inductees, Congratulations to all that were inducted. I was asked this weekend by many people about my Dad not being part of this. Not really sure why one of the oldest and best shrimpers was not inducted is all I could say. My Dad quit school in the third grade, and started working in a factory, he owned his first boat at 16 years old, and sold it to go to the war. He returned after serving his country and the first thing he did was purchase another boat. He shrimped until he was 68 years of age. He volunteered his boat, time, and hard work for I believe 13 years, catching the shrimp for the Annual Biloxi Shrimp Festival. He won best decorated boat in his category 24 times, he was the lead boat in the Blessing of The Fleet Boat Parade for 6 years, and was Shrimp King. All I can say. He is a Hall of Famer to me and my five siblings he raised over his 52 years of shrimping.
