I have been doing a lot of research after this shooting of 18 year old Michael Brown in #Missouri. And Ive been speaking with fathers - young fathers 30 years old & younger, and older fathers - both groups with sons ages 17 or younger.I have gathered opinions in person & via telephone & now I want to gather more from my online pool. So, FATHERS, of sons. 17 years old or younger, no matter your race, culture...etc have you had to have the conversation with your son(s) regarding the police? If you have no clue what Im talking about then just say I have no idea what youre talking about Talitha Otherwise, let me know if youve had the talk or if you will have the talk & if you have or will, what did/will you say? If your son is stopped by the police, what advice did/will you give him? Im looking for straightforward answers men. No rhetorical or otherwise bs. Now, if you are a single mother, who has had to/needs to or will have such a conversation with your son in the absence of or in the co-presence of his Dad, you may respond as well.
