I have been following up on the HIPA photography competition since - TopicsExpress

I have been following up on the HIPA photography competition since it started. This year & after seeing the results / the winning pictures I was quite disappointed... Even for someone, who doesnt understand a lot about photography, I can tell that many, if not all pictures are manipulated in a way or another, in some cases with excess use of photoshop & over editing! Its a shame the HIPA didnt respect the rules they had set for the competition. Below is the link of what petapixel had to say about the Grand Price winning picture: petapixel/2014/03/18/hipa-grand-prize-winner-looks-like-may-big-photoshop-fail/ Worth mentioning is that one of the photo of the 3rd winner in General category has already won in a previous competition, which is against the rules of the HIPA contest: https://facebook/HIPA.ae/photos/a.638316586224021.1073741884.229590467096637/638318209557192/?type=3&theater maybankphotoawards/blog_/?p=1949 To check the rest of the pictures that won, click on the following link: https://facebook/media/set/?set=a.638316586224021.1073741884.229590467096637&type=1 I suggest you read the comments! Weirdly enough the HIPA is not responding to comments or any criticism written on their facebook fanpage. For the sake of their credibility, they should at least justify why these pictures were chosen! Last but not least the only picture that in my eyes was not edited is the picture of the 3rd winner in Street life category: https://facebook/HIPA.ae/photos/a.638316586224021.1073741884.229590467096637/638317579557255/?type=3&theater
