I have been fortunate enough to see 25 yrs of life, after I was not expected to see 1 year. With this thought in mind, I have decided that I will make a Personal New Year Resolution to focus on MYSELF before anyone else. That means me going out my way for anyone who cannot be there for me will no longer happen. Goals for this year are to successfully navigate this quarter-life crisis, finally get my diabetes back to the levels I had at diagnosis and maintain said levels, get my new little family off to a solid, sound start, reconnect with the reasons why I joined my sorority, and solidify my faith and practice. I can no longer put my needs last to those around me, it is simply ok for me to be selfish for once. Guess that is something we all learn with time.
