I have been given permission to re post this letter. To the Board of Directors, RSL Club Merimbula, Gentlemen, As long time members of the RSL here in Merimbula we must express our disgust and disappointment regarding the scare tactic advertisements that have been printed in the local paper. They are distasteful to say the least. It seems to be a bully/scare campaign which is intimidating. All this seems to have done so far is to tear the heart out of the Club. And after talking to several staff members, their moral is at an all time low. We believe the amount of members money that has been spent on the Yes campaign for a Club that is supposedly in financial stress is out of control. One wonders if you have the right to spend that amount of money? As a Board you should have presented the facts and let the members decide the future. Instead, you have turned it into a fear campaign which, we believe, will eventually come back to haunt you. This leaves the Board and its Manager with no alternative should the No campaign win but to resign as you have well and truly over stepped the mark. We would ask you that you seriously consider ceasing any more advertising as you as a Board and the Manager are doing this club no favours and causing a lot of resentment. Robert and Ann Wright.
