I have been informed and it is with great regret that I report the passing of 2008 Goshen High School graduate Najee Slade, No. 4 scorer and No. 2 rusher in the history of Redskin football. Slade, 25, was killed instantly in a single-vehicle accident on Coliseum Boulevard in Fort Wayne at about 1:30 in the morning last night. Najee scored 33 touchdowns and two PAT for a total of 200 points during his Goshen football career. He carried the ball 647 times for 3,385 yards and is second to 1999 alum Mason Ogle on the Redskin career rushing chart. A highlight of Najees senior year was running for three touchdowns and 177 yards during a 43-14 win at NorthWood on a rainy night. He rushed for 204 yards in a 28-0 win over Wawasee. All his fellow GHS alumni and Redskin teammates send along their thoughts and prayers to the family.
