I have been looking for my mother, Ida Dean Richardson Anderson - TopicsExpress

I have been looking for my mother, Ida Dean Richardson Anderson (Anderson, married name) for many years. She disappeared after our father left the three of us kids in a boarding house and left town while Ida was in the hospital battling pneumonia. We know she fought to regain custody of us as well as any 21 year old thousands of miles from home could. There was lots of conflicting information given to her sister, Belle, by the adoption agency and probate judge at the time. When we finally got a couple pages from the adoption agency, names had been changed, relatives names deleted, phony addresses included. Its all quite a mystery. As though the adoption agency and judge never wanted the real details to get out. I was able to locate her sister, Belle, and brothers Frank and Joe Richardson in Jacksonville, FL in 1997 after a journey of decades and tens of thousands of miles. Aunt Belle and I teamed up to search for her together, but we reached a dead end. Also, our youngest sister, Deborah, who was adopted into another family. What I was finally able to determine was that the judge held her against her will until our adoptions were finalized .. nearly two years after her disappearance, in order to keep her from taking us out of state and back to her family home in Jacksonville Beach, FL. From that point on we have never been able to find out anything concerning her whereabouts. I know from how hard she fought to regain custody of us after our father abandoned us that she would LOVE to be reunited with us. Ida was last heard from by letters sent from Ann Arbor, MI, in 1958. If youve seen her or know anything about her please contact me at whereisida@gmail. Below are an article from the Detroit News that explains the story rather well and a couple pictures of Margie (Beverly) and me Bert (Danny) taken shortly before and after her disappearance, as well as a large version of pictures of Ida. And the last time anyone heard from her before her disappearance. Thank you for taking the time to check this out. Ida Dean Richardson (maiden name) Married to Gerry Anderson in 1958 (now deceased) DOB: 3/22/37 Waycoss, GA Eyes: Blue Hair: Brown Hght: 5 2 Weight in 1958: 110 lbs.
