I have been nominated for the 5 day art challenge by Steve Lopes. 3 pieces for 5 days and a nomination to pass the torch. Day 1. Three sunrise and sunset sculptures. California Sunset forged at a CBA event in Vista, CA... from the surf to the Sierra Mountains, I led a team of 13 smith forging this 6 piece, including the late and great Toby Hickman. Skylines designed by yours truly and forged in my workshop by members of the Contemporary Blacksmiths group. It is a 9 tall piece showing a representation of the city of Toronto, now installed at Pearson Int airport in the aforementioned city. `Sunstrike`one of my smaller horizon pieces, playing with the plasticity of hot steel and capture the drama and beauty of that daily ritual we call a sunset. My first nomination would be to Bart Turner, Flying Anvil Studio.
