I have been noticing the very high number of children on First - TopicsExpress

I have been noticing the very high number of children on First Nation communities with serious skin issues. There are bleeding bumps and warts and skin bubbles and discolourations. Some covering whole hands or feet legs arms or faces. Many many children have these issues. Ive started asking parents what the doctors say about it. Many of the parents have said they are waiting to see a specialist. My guess is it takes years until the appointment. Then doctors say its just eczema and gives them a topical lotion to sooth the sores. I dont think they are eczema. Im not an expert...just see a lot of really bad cases. Poor children. Its so sad. Something needs to be done. There needs to be a national strategy for dealing with skin issues of these children. Doctors need to go on tour documenting cases, categorizing types, and finding causes and solutions to these skin issues. If you see what I see with such great numbers and regularity you might be horrified.
