I have been on Clonidine for ever for my blood pressure and recently my neurologist gave me Nortryptyline for my headaches/pain. I always check the Multi drug interaction checker because I worry about drug interactions with all the different meds that I am on. So this is what came up on my blood pressure pill and the new one he just prescribed... Serious - Use Alternative nortriptyline + clonidine nortriptyline decreases effects of clonidine by Other (see comment). Possible serious or life-threatening interaction. Monitor closely. Use alternatives if available. Comment: Inhibition of uptake by adrenergic neurons. This is a LIFE THREATENING interaction! So I called the pharmacy to confirm and they told me to bring it back and definitely NOT to take it. Someone on here told me they wouldnt bother checking their interactions cause we all have to die from something, right? Well I just could of had I listened to my doctor with this medicine. CVS checks the drug interactions for you but I switched to Walgreens because they are faster and they dont do it. Thank God I didnt take it.
