I have been on the road for eight days. I have seen everything from the mediocre to awe-inspiring. I have checked off the bucket list more than once this week. From natural landmarks, man made historical locations, wildlife and objects from space, I have put more in this week than many have in a lifetime. I am definitely lucky to be able to do so. I have been blessed enough to do the cross country trip and meet a great number of different people on the road. And that is not the best part. Each time I stopped at a location along the way, I ended up taking pictures of couples, families or a group of friends so everyone could get in the shot. Its what I do. I met people from all over the country and globe, each friendly and greatful for the photo. What made that fun was not taking the shots for them, it was the, Where you from and why are you headed there?, question they would ask. And I would tell them. I would tell them about this very moment that was to come and without fail, each group seemed to have a bit of hope for humanity restored. For you see, there is a woman waiting on me right now on the beach. She is surrounded by friends. She expects me next weekend, except I dont work that way and I should be walking up to her right about now. Everyone knows I am coming but her. Eight, glorious, adventure filled days full of sights that simply cannot compare to..... Honey, I am home.
