I have been posting pro-PEGIDA things, so it is only fair to post something from the opposition. Here we see a rather smallish gathering of what are ironically called Gutmenschen. They are protesting against the PEGIDA movement. As you may recall, PEGIDA stands for, in German, Patriotic Europeans against the Islamisation of the West, and its agenda is primarily to preserve German values and the German way of life in the face of increasing (and governmentally sponsored) immigration by un-assimilable elements. During the Christmas season, the PEGIDA demonstrations in Dresden were conducted in a highly orderly fashion and consisted of some speeches and the singing of Christmas carols. Obviously a dangerous, and extremist movement. Among the anti-PEGIDA group is a former Berlin politician, by the name of Mercedes Reichstein, who calls for the return of Bomber Harris, the destruction of Dresden, and the annihilation of its civilian population. This is perhaps based on the assumption that the entire population of Dresden supports PEGIDA. Or perhaps not, since historically the people that anti-PEGIDA represent have been less than picky when conducting reprisals. In any case THAT, messieurs dames, is how the Gutmenschen wish to deal with their opponents. Because incinerating your enemies is sometimes the only effective response to . . . the singing of Christmas carols. Every time the anti-PEGIDA crowd open their mouths, it only serves to convince me that I did indeed pick the right side in this conflict.
