I have been pulling the last few photos for my new website and wanted to share a few faces from my years working in Haiti. As I was sifting through my work, so many of these faces haunted my memory. Like a wave, memories came flooding back of where I was, conversations I had, smiles and hugs exchanged. I learned so much about being a photographer from my experiences in this place. That there is power in the human connection and that photography can be a catalyst for understanding and compassion, even when words can not be spoken. I hope someday even one of my images pertains to this quote by Robert Frank - “When people look at my pictures I want them to feel the way they do when they want to read a line of a poem twice.”
