I have been reading a lot of posts about Liverpool’s interest - TopicsExpress

I have been reading a lot of posts about Liverpool’s interest in Balotelli and I find it a hard one to call and even among The Anfield Spirit admins there is a divide in opinions with myself being the most objective party. Haha. There’s always one. I have always stated that I would not like Balotelli to join Liverpool. It’s not that I don’t think he is a good footballer because he has the ability to be great and then he has the ability to be a complete plonker. A friend stated on his own page that at some stage Balotelli has to grow up. Is that really possible? I suppose it’s the plonker part and the protecting of Liverpool and the players that stops me from agreeing with those that believe that Balotelli could be good for Liverpool under Brendan Rodgers. If he performed on the pitch , he could be a huge benefit indeed but what happens when his controversial side kicks in and the watching media get their claws into LFC again. Does that risk need to be taken? Balotelli could be a huge benefit and he certainly would put the shits up most defences. It’s the “under Brendan Rodgers ,” that does get my attention a bit. Then again it’s the “under Brendan Rodgers” that puts me off also. What if he couldn’t tame the lion and would it be asking too much of the man to give so much time to one player because that’s what it would take to control Balotelli in my opinion. Is he worth the effort? I expect some of the responses will be, “BR controlled Luis Suarez”. It probably wasn’t as hard as people think to control Luis Suarez to a point, because all it took was a friendly character with the people skills to show him that he was respected and part of a big family and at the same time telling him to behave. Sometimes that’s all it takes to get the best out of people. Suarez wasn’t the rebellious type and still isn’t but he does have the ability to be unpredictable at times. He also had the stable surrounding of his family to turn to and that is his sanctuary away from football. Balotelli has the ability to be unpredictable every time he plays and especially when things are going against him. Taking his stroppy attitude out on team mates is something that would cause disruption in the squad and changing room. Sorting internal affairs such as squabbles is the last thing a manager needs when he has such a big season ahead. Would the rest of the squad be able to handle such a player and how would Sturridge feel playing second fiddle again as he did while Suarez was on board? Not exactly a post a lot of people will want to read or agree with, but just let me say this. If Brendan Rodgers decided to sign Mario Balotelli fully or on loan, I do feel confident that he would have asked himself the questions I have written in the post. He will have done the homework and if he still went ahead and signed such a controversial player, well fair play to him. Would Mario Balotelli be good for Liverpool or would it be a question of , Error 402 Balotelli not found. #fran #lfc
