I have been reading with interest the comments about the state of modern day stockcars and to be honest I feel privlaged to have seen the stockcars at there best in the 70s & early 80s.Scottish stockcars had a lot of great drivers in the Auld days the likes of Malcolm Paterson Bill Pullar Les Clark Ronnie Nesbit To name but a few in the superstox then you had Bob Jones,Robert Bruce,Keith Jarman,Howie Jarman Hamish Buchanan,Charlie Milne in the saloons Les Kay,Ian Bruce,Dougie Farrer,Grahan wait Davie Philp in the hot rods and those are just a few of the well knowen drivers we were honard to watch every week and come hell or high water we had to get to the stockcars every sunday to cheer on our fav driver.Sadley those days have long gone The modern saloons in Scotland seem to be loosing drivers at an alarming rate and I heard there was only 12 F2s to compete for there scottish championship?.There was a lot to be said for going to the scrappys for your spare parts and in my case The late Tom Philps for my tyres and paint for my saloon nay spray jobs in those days lol So When I read that the likes of Lorna Paterson (Malcoms Daughter) is loosing interest in the racing its a sad day So lets all be happy we were privlaged to see the racing at its best and enjoy the memorys that Legends Day gave us regards Willie
