I have been really happy with my body changes while pregnant, - TopicsExpress

I have been really happy with my body changes while pregnant, surprisingly! Just like any other women with out insecurities I always wondered how my body would cope with a pregnancy. Weight gain, tummy stretching, etc etc.... I havent gained any weight except for my tummy. Yep, Im 6 months pregnant and put only 1.9kg so far. I wont deny that it even worried me a bit, but my blood results are perfect and baby growing well, so why worry? I think its a pretty good sign and I decided to share all my tips with you. Lets start with the diet. So what do a pregnant vegan lady eats?! Differently from what people believe, no I didnt have to give up on my vegan diet while pregnant, plants have protein, calcium and iron as much as we need. I havent been eating for two, I have been eating exactly as I ate before (except for the fact that I have been munching on chokkie quite often). But a regular day would start with a smoothie (one fruit plus berries, sunwarrior protein, almond milk and peanut butter or any other nut butter available in my fridge. If theres spinach, Ill throw some too - it doesnt change the taste and it gives you an iron boost). Lunch Id say a sandwich with heaps of salad, avocadoes, any sort of plant based meat, or tofu etc. Id say thats it because Im always on the go and like to have easy lunches. Otherwise Id have lentils with rice. Or beans, chickpeas, etc. GRAINS - I love them! They are good source of carbs and also high in protein... For the dinner, I also dont regulate on my carbs. I eat carbs at night AND plenty! Look at my dinner last night - ive got rice, potato salad and a leafy salad (woooops, I skipped the protein, I know. Its ok, it was friday!). Usually plenty of grains and veggies too. Roasted veggies, beans, soups, curries, etc. And I munch on fruits, cookies and chocolate all day long - guilty free. Juices aaaaaaall the time. As for the lifestyle, Id suggest you to not stop anything just because youre pregnant. Keep going with your life as you used to... Of course we feel a bit more tired, but keep going, dont stop. Exercise, work as much as you can and live your life as you used to. With a good diet and an active life, youll wont get excessive weight and will be back to what you used to be in no time. Promise! x
