I have been reminiscing of our early married years {inspired by Ms, Marilyn Bryans stories} We married in Oct. 1965 and lived our first month in a little( and I hesitate to say apartment} because the living room and bedroom was 1 room, small kitchen, and a bathroom with an old thin bedspread that served as the door to the bathroom;;Keep in mind, this 18 year old married lady that had no bathroom door to keep bathroom noises in and NO privacy for us newlyweds...Back then, young people, we werent living with our boyfriend/girlfriend...Most things were private...until marriage..Really embarrasing.... But what I really wanted to post {and I write a lot like I talk a lot} but bear with me...We had little to NO money..BUT we bought an old Studebaker car for $10.00 that was made in the early 50s We were a 2-car family and had only been married for less than a month!!.Only 1 thing that was REALLY wrong with it was the fact that it had nothing inside of it to sit on..NO Car Seats at all..I am from Stamps, so Dalton said it would probably make it to Stamps to see Mama and Daddy. My fine young Husband even made me a seat to sit on..He put a 5 gallon bucket in the driver side for me to sit on.. I made it to Stamps, with the old car bucking and jumping,.Standard shift {which I learned to drive on a {stick shift truck} Mama was glad to see me , but not me driving that pitiful looking, ugly old Studebaker sittin on a 5 gallon bucket; Daddy looked at me and grinned that grin I remember so well, as if to say Yeah, thats my baby girl,shes gonna make it And we have..AHHH I remember Daddys grin...
