I have been struggling with this problem for over a year. My neighbor feeds the stray cats in our neighborhood and claims they are not her cats and not her responsibility, but she still feeds them and leaves her garage door cracked so they can get in from the cold. They keep breeding and breeding and breeding. She also has two dogs. The back yard is full of dog poop so she opens up for front door and lets her dogs run out and go to the bathroom in anybodys yard and doesnt even bother to go clean it up. Ive called the city councilman. I have called the police. I even called the APL. To my dismay she is an employee of the APL. She has a pitbull that constantly gets loose terrorizes the neighborhood. One time her dog was out and was agressively barking at a family in their yard. At that familys request, I went to knock on her door to tell her the dog was out and I heard them inside the house yelling about who was going to get off their lazy butt and go get the dog! So that means they already knew the dog was out and were too irresponsible and lazy to get their dog. My hands are completely tied when trying to deal with this situation. Feels like Im darned if I do or dont. The rat & possum problem is even worse because they scavenge her yard (and mine) for the cat food that gets spilled all over the place. I am just fed up. The area around my house stinks like poop, and I just have to deal with it. In order to work on our cars, we have to light inscense and stick them in the ground. Those that know us, know that we barbecue A LOT, and we cant even enjoy our yard. We are buying our house so moving is not an option, but we can not enjoy living in our home. This neighbor lives in a rental with an out of state landlord. This feels so unfair to us, yet she will call us rude or act like we are animal haters... which is the furthest from the truth. We had to re-home my Rocky because her dogs would constantly jump the fence to attack him... I could not bare the thought of keeping him caged up all the time because of this. I love animals, and I miss my Rocky terribly, its the irresponsible animal owners that I have a problem with. I have no doubt in my mind that she loves animals, but the irresponsibility is the problem. I have heard her and her partner fight constantly and I would suspect she is abused emotionally in her home and her animals may be her safe haven. My property is being destroyed because of the animal/rodent problem, my cars are getting scratched up because of the cats perching on them. She really is a decent person, just an irresponsible animal owner. Any advice or help you can give me would be appreciated.
