I have been thinking about this for a long time and I dont know if I am out there in left field. But it seems like the Chins that have higher incidence of CHF or other serious health conditions often have more bug like eyes. Does that seem an unfair analysis? I dont want people to start discriminating and not adopting dogs with eyes like that, but it just seems like from my history of being a Chin mom since 2005, that has been my experience. Johnny appears to have no genetic history of those conditions because he was from a breeder who was carefully screening for it. But the one I adopted previously did have a heart murmur and he was likely a pet store Chin that his previous owner purchased and then dumped at the Humane Society at 9 when he had a health condition develop and an incontinence problem.
