I have been told there is not enough Meat & Potatoes in our little group here and that I should attempt to post some real topics.... Maybe it is the Zoe Barnes in me (and I am not referring to a fiery young red headed 20 something go getter... more the blog reporter stuff) but I saw these young men picketing outside the YMCA as I returned from my lunch workout (by workout I mean bacon cheeseburger) and I thought I would stop and report on what they were doing (Technically Penfield but there is not many people on that group yet)..... Anywho, seems the YMCA is importing cheap labor and not using Union workers.... I am impartial to this as I know there is arguments for both sides and I am not stating any opinion, instead I will take in the community response to this post as an investigative means of which to educate myself.... (If you disagree with the YMCA, the flyer says to call CEO George Romell at 585 546-5500 and the young men in the photograph are hired help, a new local band trying to get gigs... I will post on them later so they are not improperly stigmatized by the work they had to do to get by).... In case it is important, George pays himself $291,442 in salary to run this non profit, and the charity is ranked 49/70 in finance, operated $818,862 in the red last year with revenue exceeding $40m.... Still not taking sides, just stating the facts to see what comes of this discussion..... There is your Meat & Potatoes for today.
