I have been trying to not cry today And I have failed repeatedly An earlier post over how an autistic child was handcuffed from having a sensory overload reaction has had me greatly disturbed all day. I have several autistic family members, and even more autistic friends, and to my knowledge and understanding they are the most kind, caring, and innocent humans on earth. While it is true that most people with autism can have outbursts, that from the outside may seem like a tantrum, they are merely an expression of the turmoil that spectrum disorders can cause internally, there are almost never outbursts done seeking personal attention. Seeing as how many autistic people have been, and are being treated is really bothering me. I have several disorders that affect me, from bi polar disorder, to emotional disorders that affect my ability to relate to people on a personal level, although it may not seem that way due to my Facebook posts. However the treatment of people like us, psychiatric abnormalities ,(psychological disorders that are not mainstream) is disheartening. May we all awaken soon. Rant over. Tears beginning
