I have been up all night wondering what is wrong with the world. I couldnt bring myself to come on here and post something until now as I feel hurt, betrayed , angry, and devastated. as many of you will know I booked a club called mission in November for a charity event in aid of LimbPower. I paid £500 to hire the club on 25th January 2014 and then paid out for posters, flyers, raffle prizes, petrol to different areas etc. this event cost a total of £1000 to put together. I did this because I wanted to make a difference and raise awareness for a wonderful charity. I have put my heart and soul into this event and was thrilled when 20 of the finest djs said they would come on board. this event has also had full media coverage from radio and newspapers and a substantial amount of tickets were sold. today I should be thanking everyone involved for a great night, writing a cheque out to send to the charity and posting pictures of what should have been an epic night. instead I am writing a heart felt apology for an event that never took place. i turned up at Mission MCR at 7pm to set up for an event that had been planned for months with technics, speakers, cdjs, lighting etc all in the back of my car. i was unable to get in the club as there was no one there. i had been ringing the club and marlons 2 mobile numbers all day and thought it strange that i could not get an answer, but now i was really starting to get paranoid. i contacted the police who advised me to keep trying and wait till 9pm so i did exactly that. marlons two phones were now switched off. i knew then that this night was not going to go ahead. however, i still had to believe in my heart that perhaps he was running late, didnt have his mobile and would turn up. surely marlon would not deprive a charity of their money????? 9pm arrived as did some of the djs and still there was no sign of anyone. at this point i became so upset that i couldnt stop crying but i dusted myself off as i needed to try and salvage a bad situation. i tried ringing marlon again and again but his phone continued to be switched off. he obviously did not want to be contacted. what made this situation worse was the fact that he had left one of our posters in the window advertising the event !!! the police were contacted again and it is now being looked into by both the police and delta entertainments legal representatives. i tried my hardest to find another venue for this event but due to the short notice this was an impossible task. to all the djs who were involved in this event i would firstly like to say thanks for all your support and help with the event, secondly i would like to offer my deepest apologies for the event not taking place. it was down to management of the club and not delta entertainments but i still feel saddened by everything. i would also like to apologise to any customers who may have turned up to the event and were unable to get into the venue. if you have purchased any tickets from any of our djs or fab music they will be refunded in full. once again im sorry for any inconvenience that may have been caused. i would also like to apologise to limb power.
