I have been waiting patiently to announce a history project that will keep the airman and airwomen who served in King Salmon in the hearts of all for a long time to come. Heres the plan. Those of you who have pictures of your time in KS, like the ones we have seen on this site, please copy (no originals please) and enlarge to 8x10s on quality photo paper and send in as many as you like to King Salmon Air Force Base Pictorial History Project, c/o R. Olsen, PO Box 83, Naknek, Alaska 99633. I have spoken with former airman locally and several are interested in helping with this project. When we receive a good variety of photos, we will request a grant to display them locally and begin to build the collection for the sake of preserving and documenting. Thousands of visitors come through the KS airport and your pictures will help keep KS on the map. If you would like to be part of this project, please participate. Photos must be clearly identified with name, location and date (do not write on photo). If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to message me. Help preserve and document King Salmon through pictures! This time was part of your life.
