I have been watching TV waiting patiently for the announcement from the grand jury in Ferguson. Gov. Nixon spoke and I was amazed to hear him speak of all the things and apparatuses he has put in place for what may or may not be a favorable decision by the grand jury. What I did not hear him or the county executive speak about was how we got here, how the community is feeling, if they sympathize with the community. I did hear how they really want to get past all of this; as if it is an inconvenience to them, and get to healing. I am not a resident of Ferguson but I am disappointed and appalled at the insensitivity of the county and state leaders who speak publicly about protestors who are basically being told that all the measures that have been put in place are to keep them straight! Shame on you Gov. Nixon. Where is you peace keeping alliance with the constituents of your state? Why arent you on the TV talking about the new efforts to make sure that all young people are safe on your streets; especially the young, unarmed, African and Latino American men? How about telling people about what the definitions of excessive force is and how future training of the police for will be that of inclusion and a how about striving to make local government more representative of the community and how much you are looking forward to that change. And lastly, I would like to have heard you speak about how you plan to join the community protestors to effect the change needed to turn this horrible situation around. Im just saying...
