I have been watching a lot of documentaries lately and just saw one on the KKK. Which is a despicable group of cruel and ignorant racists, bigots, and hypocrites.... who hate Jews and Blacks and any whites who sympathized with either... yet profess to be God fearing and loving Christian. Among the many ridiculous and horrid views of the White Christian members, which included not only racist civilians but Deputy Sheriffs, Highway Patrolmen, Judges and other officials.... was the religious notion that seperation of the races was Gods Will since he made them different. That notion still persists among White Christian Racists today. Insisting that interracial relationships would produce a Nation of mongrels... mixed races... something inferior as a Nation of One People. Yet... according to their own religious dogma... ALL people in the world descend from the same ancestors... the sole human survivors of the Great Flood, that annihilated humanity, except for the single family of Noah... which consisted of him, his wife, two sons and two daughter-in-laws. It really, really pisses me off when religion is used as a excuse to target and demean others! Racists use it to declare themselves superior and others their servants and attempting to deny those others certain civil liberties. Mysogynists use it to justify treating women as their property and inferiors, while attempting to deny women certain civil liberties. Homophobes and Xenophobes use it as an excuse to attempt to denegrade others and deny those others certain civil liberties. What the religious keep attempting to ignore is the fact that RELIGIOUS FREEDOM does not afford them the right to impose their will on others, nor does it grant them authority to impede the Civil Rights of Others... yet when their attempts to do so are called out and resisted... the religious cry out that their rights are being violated!
