I have been watching this issue for some time now and I fail to understand why anyone, other than being greedy, would go for a multi-speed interent. In a nut shell this is the situation: If Net Neutrality is not maintained, yes folks the Interent is currently working under a defacto standard of Net Neutraility, Big Internet Service Provider can segment the speed at which your connection runs. They hold slow most peoples connections so that they can provide, at a primium fee, the higher speed to people and companies that want it. This is nothing but greed on the part of some ISPs! Please be aware that the premium fee is not going to be low! Why is this important? Lets take a hypotheical case. Lets say that there is an ISP that favors Republicans, now what happens to grass roots Democratics groups that cant pay the exorbinate primium for the higher speed? Yep, their message is effectively blocked. Sure there will be some of their message getting out but most search engines will not rant them high on the search page. How about another hypothical case: Two business offering similar products need interent service to sell at a reasonable rate. One company is owned by some rich guy(s), like Koch Brothers, the other a mom-pop startup. Guess which company would be able to purchace the higher speed and which would probably couldnt? The Kock Brothers supported firm manages to get their product information out easier and their online sells sky rocket whereas the mom-pop firms website is slow and therefore drives customers away. Net Neutrality is essential!
