I have been watching two motorcycle documentaries featuring two delightful gentlemen, Ewan McGregor and Charlie Boorman. Back in 2004 they decided to ride around the world on their BMWs, going from London to New York. They journeyed East. In 2007 they rode from Scotland to the southern tip of Africa. One is called LONG WAY ROUND and the other LONG WAY DOWN. You can guess which is which. Ewan is a well known Scots actor and Charlie first appeared in film as Jon Voights little boy seen at the end of the movie DELIVERANCE. John Boorman , Charlies father, directed this epic film. These two guys are unbelievable cyclists, enduring every kind of hardship imaginable on these two awesome journeys. As one who rode alone from Louisville to Mexico City in the mid-1990s on a Honda 750 ( way too small for this kind of ride), I was fascinated with every scene. I saw both on NETFLIX. RLC
