I have been wondering and doing a lot of self-introspection. A few days ago I went to the shops to try and do the Christmas shopping and the more I tried the more I became uncomfortable and I left the shops coming home empty handed. I asked the Lord what is going on with me, why so much war this time around? The answer was very interesting! The Lord opened my eyes to see that the spending spirit around Christmas may be a good idea but not a God idea. God will not push you to buy things that no one will ever use, they dont need another blender but you still buy it anyway because it appears to be on sale. Seriously, this consumer spirit has to stop squandering our finances in the name of Christmas is about giving!!! Some of us get into more debts trying to get gifts with money we dont have because we feel we have to give against all odds. Hang on a minute! who ever is pushing you it is not God! He will not push you into debts you will struggle with after all has been said and done. OUR GOD IS A VERY NEAT GOD! Before you buy anymore presents think about the motives of your heart, the attitude of your heart, and the reasons behind the gift you are buying. TBC!! There is nothing wrong in celebrating Jesuss birth but there is something wrong when we leave our brains out of it.
