I have followed Kericho Governor’s impeachment saga right from - TopicsExpress

I have followed Kericho Governor’s impeachment saga right from the assembly to the Senate. I have also listened to what the 15 MCAs who boycotted the impeachment have said in vernacular radio stations as well as what the Governor said yesterday during his testimony at the Senate and in one of the vernacular radio stations, not forgetting what he said in one of the local dailies recently which has been repeated today in another local daily “The People” as the headline. If these allegations are true then all the 32 MCAs who demanded 30 million and land are guilty as per the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and The Public Officer Ethics Act and have lost the moral standing and legitimacy to continue holding office and should do the honourable thing of resigning and pave way for by-elections which will usher in fresh crop of untainted MCAs who will have a moral standing to legislate and govern. Some of the MCAs have intimated to us that they received some cash from a member of Parliament and a Senator. We do not know what these money was meant for? Senator Charles Keter and Hon Benjamin Langat have to come out clean on this murky business if they also have to save their political images and good will of the people of Kericho County. It is time we call a spade a spade. Senator Charles Keter is a man on a tight spot over this and it is in his interest that this matter is brought to an end in the best way possible. Procurement at the assembly has not also been straight and dishonesty on the part of some MCAs has been evident and they have to be made accountable for their actions. Those who collected money for Israel trip and ended up hiding in Nairobi have to be made to account for their actions and quit office. From the discourse going on at the ground there is going to be increased public participation in the coming days ahead of us which will be spend on exerting pressure, both legal and otherwise, on all the 32MCAs to resign failure to which people will resort to legal processes as per the law.
