I have gained a lot through Facebook - sikandalous cuisine and Delhi Gourmet Club have opened a lot of doors for me and given me a lot - the most treasured part is friends I have made through the net.Roma Patil a supremely talented member of sikandalous cuisine has become a friend of mine over the last few years .This friendship or should I call it kinship resulted in us meeting up in Belgaun . I know we werent strangers after all these years , phone chats , in boxing messages and a few healthy fights - so when we met in real life it felt as though I had hopped across to meet an old friend. I enjoyed the warm hospitality of the family - her husband Satish , sons Alhad and Vardhaman and MIL who I always suspected was the talent behind all Romas posts and took the mickey out of her on that point.Over the 24 hours I was in Belgaun , I got to savor her delicious food - she remembered all the interest I had shown in her posts and made it a point to make each of those dishes - specially the never to be forgotten Mysore Pak . When it was time to leave , she packed ma a doggy bag of goodies and spice , made curd rice for the 3 hour journey , packed a spoon and tissue papers too - oh yes , an orange too ! Alhad parted with a superb Chianti which saw me arrive home in a very happy state .
