I have had a few questions about our Mini Store, so here is an update! 1. Our Grand Opening will be at the Open House on November 9. For starters, it will be open one day per month. As we expand with trained volunteers, we may add additional days. 2. We will be stocking food, toys, perches, cages, stands, carriers, Austin Air filters, and Avitech products to start. We will add new categories each month, as money permits. Orders are welcome! 3. As a registered Georgia business, we will have to charge sales tax. That is reported to the state each month. 4. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, and we are allowed to sell retail items to support our cause as long as those items are related to our mission. We do not have to pay tax on the profits. 5. You can add a dollar amount to your total and that amount is tax-deductible per IRS laws. You can also purchase an item for a bird here; that is also tax-deductible. 6. The starting funds for the store are not donated funds. They are my personal funds that will be paid back, interest free. This way, I assume the risk, not the donors. 7. Sponsorships are available for businesses that would like to invest in our mission of helping families keep their parrots and/or provide them with the best supplies by making the financial burden as small as possible.
