I have heard from lots of parents that 3rd grade was just a tough year for their kids - almost on the same level as 7th grade. Emily *loves* her teacher, *loves* her classmates, is doing excellent in every subject, stands up to the kids who bully others, keeps up on her homework, and yet about once every few weeks we have a morning where she just HATES school and cant face the idea of going. Today was one of those days, she woke up, took a shower, got dressed, then sat on the stairs with big tears rolling down her cheeks because she just couldnt deal with school. We let her have a mental health day today, now shes recovering by laying on the sofa watching t.v. Did you let your kids stay home ever, when they werent sick?
