I have heard many opinions on whether or not people should vote one way or the other regarding the decision to build new schools. While I am fully aware of many issues people have with current administration, tax increases and many other things, I urge you to look past personal vendettas, hurt feelings or spite and focus on the big picture here. The big picture being the students of the Marshall School District. Your children, your nieces & nephews, your grand children, brothers & sisters and kids you babysit for. They need better schools, it is as simple as that. Superintendents will come and go, school board members will come and go. We will always have our children. We owe it to them to provide safe, clean, adequate environments for learning. If you dont do anything to make a change for the better, youre essentially making it worse. I will vote for the new schools tomorrow, not because I am an MPS employee, not because I get to wear jeans if I am a good little soldier, but because I believe in Marshall teachers, and I believe in Marshall students, and I believe that with new schools we will be able to tap into so much wasted potential.
