I have heard there were some people displeased about our last Friday Night Magic. More specifically displeased with the start time, and round timers. I am truly sorry for the late start, I was simply trying to accommodate those who kept calling in saying they were almost here. I was doing this, to try and make sure we had an even number of players, to avoid having someone getting sat out with a bye. I do not think its fair to make someone sit that way. They paid full tourney entry, they should get to play the whole tourney as much as the can. However, after talking to some during the Sunday chaos draft, i have agreed to make some changes. One from now on, Friday Night Magic will start sign-ups at 6PM, with a HARD START by 7PM, And if someone calls ahead and asks us to wait because they are running a little late, two things will happen. one being that the head count will be taken and if we are at an even number we will probably not wait. Second being, the group that is already here will be addressed as a group and asked if they mind waiting for who ever. Majority rules. they say lets start, we will start. As for round timers, we will try to remember to use them more diligently. For some the amount of time we have been doing when we do remember to use them (50 mins) is more than enough time, But, for some games do to complexity of the match or experience level of the players sometimes it is barely enough. so I ask you all to be patient with those who do need the full amount given. Should we finish a round with time to spare, we will start the next round early, but, i think a 5 min break between wont hurt too badly. gives some time to get a drink or a restroom/ smoke break in. I want everyone to have a good time at the store and at its tournaments. I ask that everyone remember this good bit of ancient advice, you cant please all of the people all the time, but try to please most of them most of the time.
