I have in the recent times received many questions as to why students cannot see the progress they are making. This is because the progress seeps in slowly into a martial artist and little by little the way each drop of water makes a puddle every change in the martial artist cannot be seen visibly but when all the changes occur the marked difference is visible. We must also remember that changes do not happen overnight and we must be patient and keep faith in the process of progression as well as in our ability to move on to the next level. At then of the day it does not matter what belt we hold or which level we belong to what matters is that we all progress in time and level only every individual progression differs from the progress made by another martial artist. If we really want to succeed we must be as serious about the arts as we are about money or academics or getting jobs. What we must remember that as martial artists we need to understand that the practice we do is the key to the removal of obstacles. If there is no progress in the time period that progress is normally seen then the student is doing something wrong. The other factor is the ego. The moment ego sets in the martial artist is moving downwards. That is the first sign of failure or incompetence in the art. Integrity is important and the more water tight it is the better for the martial artist as there comes a time at advanced levels where the only defense is the Bushido or the Butoku. If one practices it deliberately from day one it becomes second nature and the characteristics of integrity are then no longer prone to penetration of any kind. We must in our attempts to refine our integrity also continue physical practice which helps us gain better control of the qui/che/ki. There is no greater force in the Universes than the qui. It is the common denominator for al forms of life in every galaxy and in every Universe. From this we can clearly understand the power and the limitless ability of the Life Force to understand our efforts and our needs and our wants intelligently and help us get what we want. It is the same as saying that it is the breath of the Almighty. This intelligence force is a living entity itself. The only difference is that we are not as superior in intelligence until the time we are given that intelligence as a gift to traverse through life without obstacles and negative impacts. The moment there are negative issues or situations in the life of a martial artist, it is proof that the martial artist is in the control of the negative levels of the Life Force from which it is difficult to climb out in a hurry. At times like this people stop calling, those who would visit wills top visiting friends will abandon the person and nothing will go right unless a super human attempt is made by the martial artists to come out of the situation step by step.
