I have issues with the gvt but Id hate to be in the shoes of those who had to figure out how to balance the budget ... what a mess ... we have to cut spending right? and / or raise taxes ... tax the rich more? sure but thats such a teeny tiny itty bitty bit, so lets say we do that now we have to take money away from something that govt spends on -- wed all like to see govt paid less (so 535 senators/H of Reps and maybe 200 others ... taking some money away from the top 735 isnt really going to help much - so we can take away from programs, Social Security & Medicaid 60% of federal spending? thats the biggest budget sapper (nope not going to do that) -- defense gets about 20% of the budget (in todays volatile world? Probably not a good plan to make the USA weaker) ok what about Veterans Affairs? NO!, what about Education? NO ... what about funding to research? hmmm No ... foreign aid? OK wooohoooo thats just nothing compared to what we need to fix it ... raise taxes on all Americans? NOPE ... Yea.... whether youre democrat or republican - it doesnt matter ... just not job Id want.
