I have just finished reading the CIA Torture Report released earlier this week. I cant eat, I cant sleep, my heart is broken. This country has broken so many national & international laws, that it is staggering. We will be reading about this for decades. Future students will be reading about this for 1,000 years. We have made Torquemada look good. The actual criminals who committed the torture will never be prosecuted because they received presidential pardons, IN ADVANCE. We kidnapped people, sent them to black sites, & tortured them mercilessly. When, & if the chief of medical staff ever said, Thats enough, he was immediately demoted or transferred. The criminals were then free to torture without objection. The new chief of medical staff certainly knew he was just window dressing. There were a number of agents who quit, or obtained transfers because they couldnt take it anymore. This Report is still redacted, but there are 5,500 pages that have been eliminated. We have only been allowed to see the LEAST of the atrocities. We deserve to be banned from any discussion of Human Rights, anywhere on the planet, instead of sitting at the head table. The CIA has LIED to everyone, & should be dissolved. George W Bush made a statement in 2007, We dont torture. He had been advised by the CIA, in 2006, that we HAD been torturing. He openly & brazenly LIED TO US ! Bush, Cheney, George Tenet, Porter Goss, Michael Hayden, and many others should all be in prison. To think that all of this was done in the name of Truth, Justice, & Democracy. The irony is staggering.
