I have just had one of the most bizarre episodes of a long and bizarre life. I was, at the time, intimidated, threatened, lied to and goaded. I am so wound up about this that I cant imagine that I will sleep well, if at all, tonight... And I am not the sort of person who is easily rattled... I cant say too much about this just yet, but it involved a taxi driver trying to rip me off big style, insulting me wholesale, threatening me with vague amounts of violence from his mates, and the presence of the police, called by him, who was amazed that I neither backed down nor ran off,,, Even though I told him on several occasions that I also was a PPV licenced taxi driver, he continued to harass and threaten me... He chose the very wrongest person on the island to do this to. I will keep you all updated as far as possible without prejudicing any proceedings and will eventually make public what and how this incident arose and continued. Complete with names. As a taxi driver myself, I firmly believe that drivers like this need to be reported and got rid of and even prosecuted, and as such, I will duly report this guy in full as soon as the RTLC offices open in the morning. The public, and the trade, need protecting from people like this and I shall do my bit to make sure that happens. Taxi drivers get a bit of a bad rap from the public a lot of the time and this guy is why, so I have absolutely no qualms (as a member of the public and also as a passenger), about taking this guy to the cleaners over this. I have enough evidence for a court case, on top of removing him from the pool of legit taxi drivers. I cannot imagine how this might have ended up if I had been a young female, alone and after a few drinks... Watch this space...
