I have just ordered a Wollemi Pine tree, it is a tree that dates back to prehistoric times. Although the prehistoric Wollemi Pine is one of the worldâs oldest and rarest plants it was assumed extinct until just ten years ago. A bushwalker made the amazing discovery in New South Wales and the plant is now the subject of extensive research and conservation. The unearthing of this incredible species reminds us that there is still so much to discover in the plant world. In the wild the Wollemi Pine can grow up to 40 metres tall and over a metre in diameter. The plant has drooping dark green foliage with new light green tips developing in spring and early summer. Ill keep mine potted I think so it is mobile with me for the rest of my days, hopefully. What a wonderful thing to pass along!
