I have just received an email from Alexander Taylor who was a 462 WOp at both Driffield and Foulsham. Alex was especially interested in the inclusion re the Driffield Base and what remains of it today. He says, I wholeheartedly agree that with the passing of the site we may well be the poorer for not being able to identify anything relevant to our squadrons being there. With this in mind I wonder whether you are aware of the publication Strong Foundations - Driffields aerodrome 1917- 2000 by Geoff Simmons & Barry Abraham. ... I fully commend this book to the friends as an excellent read re the squadrons and in fact the station history is well covered. The book is published by Hutton Press ltd, and I believe it might provide some valuable insights into the stations history. Additionally my son, Greg has photographs of the runways and hanger areas which he took in 1984 when the station was in considerably better condition than it undoubtedly is today ... And he would happy to share these with the group if required. Has anyone heard of this book? Phillip Rhodes
