I have known Jerry Disco JR Smith since I was 6 years old. We went to elementary/middle/high school together and were always fairly close. I knew his family, he knew mine, etc etc. By senior year he would be telling me about his weekends at Heroes and Headlights and by then it was clear that Jerry had laid the foundation down for what would become a career as a DJ and soon be a very predominant figure in the Orlando club scene. It was not a party until you saw Disco JR on that flyer and the whole city would tell you so. To see the level of prominence he had rose to was really incredible and at times hard to even believe. I regret never getting to tell Jerry how much of an inspiration he was to me and how proud I was to know him and where he came from to where he was today. Last night a true legend in the making was lost. #RIP
