I have literally just come across a video clip of Joes rendition of Part Of Me a song which he sang last Saturday at Bournemouth which is unfamiliar to me. Several thoughts occur to me. Firstly the stage introduction to this song was a mixture of Joe anecdotes and humour followed by a mesmorizing vocal intro to the song itself which demonstrated once again the command that this boy has over what his voice is actually doing. Most pop singers trust to luck that their voices do as their owners command but many fail miserably. Joe never has to worry about what his voice is doing because it does whatever he commands it to do. After the songs introduction Joe the ever consummate showman takes over as he involves his audience more and more in the song as it develops. The second thought which occurred to me is the sheer energy of this boy and his almost indegafatigable nature. Here is an artist at the top of his game who knows precisely how to tailor a song to his audiences expectations. My third thought has to be where on earth did Joe learn the skills necessary to become such an awesome singer and entertainer?. The one thing which is totally beyond doubt is that the third rate record label who signed him as a young impressionable 18 year boy taught him absolutely nothing. except how to say No thank you.
