I have made a decision about the next urban legend Im going to - TopicsExpress

I have made a decision about the next urban legend Im going to research, the problem is; it scares the tar out of me. I was talking to a gentleman yesterday and he was relaying an incident that happened to him up at shaver Lake. He explained that one night, at around 3 A.M., a blood curdling scream split the night. Not only one scream, but a succession of three spine tingling screams. There was something evil about those screams. The interesting thing was that he was not the only one that heard the screams. There was at least one other person who had experienced the chilling wail. We talked about rumors that describe screams like that coming from the legendary Bigfoot. He didnt think it sounded like an animal of any kind. Then the talk turned to the possibility of something much darker. The fact that it occurred during the witching hour and that it happened three times (sign of the trinity) put the incident into a dark energy category. As we talked, something was nagging at me, it seemed very familiar. It struck me that I had read about an incident like this before. On a very obscure website; sott.net, I found a story of a man who had encountered an entity that emitted a scream very similar to that of the Shaver Lake incident. However his encounter occurred at a campground near Tioga Lake. His story went a little further, he had actually witnessed the screamer. He described a very tall thin creature that looked very much like a zombie. It had a female form and it looked like an old witch. The picture I have posted is said to look close to what the thing looked like. Needless to say, the man drove his RV away from the campground as quickly as he possibly could. The next day, the man related the story to a ranger at Mono Lake and the ranger told him that he had heard similar stories. He also had a name for it, Penelope. The ranger confessed he didnt know why. Now I realize that Tioga Lake is not Shaver, however, could there be more than one of these things? So, heres the question: has anyone had this kind of experience in the Shaver area? Has anyone heard of an incident such as the one depicted? If you have any ideas about this urban legend, please feel free to post your ideas. Heres a link to the Tioga Lake story: sott.net/article/250679-Creature-named-Penelope
