I have made this point before, and apparently its time for me to make it again. Im just glad yall arent doing that B.S. with the undergarment color again, ugh... Posting pictures of yourself without makeup or lying about winning the lotto in no way, shape or form draws any attention to breast cancer awareness, it simply makes the participants look like attention whores. (Feel free to unfriend me at any time if you cant handle my sincere opinion on the subject.) So, I shall be participating in this in such a way that ACTUALLY makes sense and helps build awareness- posting FACTS about breast cancer. I have loved ones who have been affected by breast cancer, and I know my risks. Ive talked to my OBGYN and PCP about my family history, risks, and a plan to be proactive in my own breast care. Im aware of breast cancer and how it can affect me, are you??? ~ One in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in their lifetime. ~ Breast cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in women. ~ Breast cancer is the second leading cause of death among women. ~ Each year it is estimated that over 220,000 women in the United States will be diagnosed with breast cancer and more than 40,000 will die. ~ Although breast cancer in men is rare, an estimated 2,150 men will be diagnosed with breast cancer and approximately 410 will die each year.
