I have never been the type to spout opinions. Being the logical - TopicsExpress

I have never been the type to spout opinions. Being the logical person I am I want proof...I try to back up everything I say and do with the facts. Here is the results of a meeting I just had with a licensed equine appraisor, one of the top horsewomen in the country, written up in a few national magazines for her accomplishments as a business woman and leader in the horse world. She is also a member of the Jockey Club, a breeder, trainer and seller of Thoroughbred racehorses. My request of her was to have her evaluate the confirmation of the live taken photo of Robert E. Lee and Traveller. I did not explain why or what I wanted to know. I asked her to evaluate his confirmation and tell me what breed she felt he was. Her initial remarks were...here it is....Morgan and gaited due to his hind quarters, leg, neck and chest confirmation. After she said this I asked...do you see anything at all that would point you to thoroughbreds. Absolutely nothing she replied. Her details about the stifle, hind legs and other confirmation traits were dead on with mine. At this point we began to speak of thoroughbreds of old and she further pointed out that TBs of that era had necks like a swan and arabian heads. This I already knew and additional proof that Traveller, the horse of General Robert E. Lee was indeed a gaited horse! The information from this meeting along with some interesting additional facts are now being added to the note about Traveller.
