I have never shed a tear since the day i joined ACRES but today i did. And i cried out of happiness and gratefulness. I had a terribly long day and i decided to end my day by having a second look on how Suzzie is doing since her release. It is very tough to spot her troop because they are extremely shy but i count myself lucky this evening. As soon as i stepped out of the van, i heard the usual crashing of branches. I saw Suzzie, amazingly, leading all the other younger ones back to their sleep site. I even saw her disciplining them! She blended in so well with her troop and though she has lost 4 fingers on her left hand, it didnt place her at a disadvantage at all. She acknowledges me by lip-smacking and the alpha male who hated me, was surprisingly cool today. I cant describe how proud i am for her. I was smiling and squatting by the trees while on-lookers thought i had gone mad. But indeed! You have to have that certain amount of madness to do this job. Thats a wrap! Goodnight Suzzie! Case closed.
