I have never understood one thing. If Macbeth knew that when (or if) Birnam Wood came to Dunsinane he would be killed, then WHY (to make assurance doubly sure) did he NOT fortify his power somewhere else? Geographical and numerical advantages clearly counted for less to him, as compared to supernatural advantage. He could just have taken some other fort and never needed to fight his enemy at all. Tactical blunder?
