But something about this Elliot Rodger story has me intrigued, and I was hooked by the idea of a monsters father speaking about his son. I had to watch this one. If youve felt even the slightest curiosity about the parents of the folks who perpetrate some of our nations most horrifying atrocities then I strongly recommend that you watch Barbara Walters on 20/20 as she sits down with Peter Rodger (Elliot Rodgers dad.) I must confess that Ive had little sympathy for the parents of the kids who murder in numbers but this interview changed that for me - at least where Peter Rodger is concerned. Hes frank. Hes cooperative. Hes ashamed. Hes remorseful. And he puts the victims ahead of his son. If you can get access to it somewhere, I encourage you to watch the 20/20 Walters interview of Peter Rodger. The exchange provides some keen insight into the afflicted mind of Elliot Rodger while highlighting the nightmare that is now his fathers life.
